The Kitchen

Entertainment and education converge in our spacious state-of-the-art Kitchen. With design assistance from The Culinary Institute of America and the world-renowned Pascoe-Jacobs, our multi-purpose Kitchen functions as a hands-on teaching environment, as a culinary demonstration arena, and as a production kitchen for professional chefs catering events at Astor Center.

Outfitted with top of the line equipment from industry leaders such as Jade, Blodgett, Viking, Vita-Mix, Hobart, Le Creuset, Swissmar, and Peugeot, our Kitchen meets the needs of cooks of all levels. With over 1100 square feet of space, the Kitchen accommodates up to 16 students for hands-on cooking classes or 36 for demonstrations. Additionally, the Kitchen is equipped with two mounted cameras and two 50" flat-panel monitors, giving presenters the option of recording, streaming, or broadcasting live events – throughout the other facilities Astor Center, and beyond.

Kitchen equipment includes: two Jade 6-burner ranges; one Jade 4-burner range with salamander broiler; Blodgett double convection oven; Jade char-broiler; Pitco deep-fryer; worktop refrigeration opposite hot line; three large prep tables with sinks; two Hobart mixers; six Vita-Prep 3 blenders; Arctic Industries 7' x 10' walk-in cooler; Traulsen 3 door reach-in freezer; Traulsen 1-door reach-in refrigerator; 1000 lbs. Manitowac ice maker; dishwashing, pot washing, and scrapping stations.
